Network for sustainable civil society
The project for sustainable civil society was initiated in 2007 by the Bavarian State Ministry of Environment and Puplic Health. 40 municipalities and administrative districts across Bavaria took part in this project. The project will soon be extended to 100 local authorities.
The participant municipalities have varied experiences with regard to sustainable civil society. Discussions and solutions were held by means of workshops on subjects like civil compile engagement, demographic change, structural financial power, municipal climate protection and energy with the assistance of experts and the Regina GmbH.
The project promotes the helpful exchange between the participant municipalities and offers technical-methodical support. The aim is an administrative district-wide learning network of towns and municipalities who tend to a sustainable development. The general principles are the agenda 21 and the active civil society where politics, management and citizens compile common solutions for the varied challenges on site.
Beside the Bavarian State Ministry of Environment and Public Health as an initiator, the school of Good Governance in Berching-Plankstetten leads the project management. The Regina GmbH looks after the network and is responsible for the realisation of the Workshops and the documentation.
